The 21st State - Stepping Stones Artwork 2 (1)The band have also recently released their debut 5-track EP called ‘Stepping Stones’ which is now available on iTunes and Spotify.
21st State leader Andrew Duncan told Revival FM: “We have been a band for three years and formed as we were all friends at high school. In our time as a band we have made a name for ourselves in the Glasgow music scene playing most of the venues such as Classic Grand, Broadcast, Stereo and we have played King Tut’s on two occasions to packed crowds and we are preparing now for our third time in March.
We also played the mainstage at ButeFest last summer, 2015. Last August we went to Old Mill Studios in Strathaven, Lanarkshire to record our 5-track EP ‘Stepping Stones’.
The week of recording the EP was a crazy experience as we recorded the full thing in five days from Monday to Friday and we also had our very first King Tut’s gig on the Thursday of the same week!
So on the Thursday we recorded all day and rushed to Glasgow to play and then went back on Friday to finish recording.
Since releasing the EP we have been played on various independent Glasgow radio stations such as performing a live set on student webcaster SubCity Radio and receiving airplay from UK wide station Amazing Radio. We also have a gig in April at Glasgow University Queen Margaret Union (QMU) and as well as making waves in the Glasgow scene we are playing Stirling University in April.”
Andrew added: “We are also going to be featured in the March Edition of Stencil Magazine. We are also currently in the process of writing and demoing new songs and looking forward to recording them in the coming months and continue on to bigger and better things a band.”
