Andy Russell joins 100.8 Revival FM

100.8 Revival FM has a new Breakfast and morning show host with Andy Russell taking over the weekday early programme from station manager Dave Mitchell who will be working on the new Glasgow area licence service which is scheduled to launch at Easter 2019.

Andy will be waking-up 100.8 Revival FM listeners with all the information they need to start their day plus an inspiring mix of music to uplift the mind.

Andy says: “I am delighted with this opportunity to have a daily programme on 100.8 Revival FM, and in particular the breakfast and morning show, when I will have regular guests coming into studio 1 at Revival FM just after 10.00am.

Dave Mitchell commented: “Andy is a great addition to the team here at Revival FM and I just hope the winter weather is kind to him unlike last year’s winter ‘beast from east’ I had to deal with in the early morning!”

The Featured artist on this week’s ‘Simply Country’ programme on 100.8 Revival FM is singer Luke Bryan.

He began his music career writing songs for Travis Tritt and Billy Currington, before signing with Capitol Records in Nashville with his cousin, Chad Boyd in 2007.  In 2013, Luke received the Academy of Country Music Awards and the Country Music Association Award “Entertainer of the Year” and has sold over seven million albums and 27 million singles worldwide.

Leslie-Ann Scoular with be playing songs from Luke Bryan tonight (Friday) at 8.00pm and on Saturday, 1 December at 11.00am.

The featured artist on this week’s (commencing Monday 26 November) Me ‘n’ U Till 2 Show is Sam & Dave.

There will be two songs from the each day from this American soul and R&B duo who performed together from 1961 until 1981. The tenor (higher) voice was Sam Moore, now 83 and the baritone/tenor (lower) voice was Dave Prater, who died in 1988 age 50.

Sam & Dave were the most successful and critically acclaimed duo in soul music history, according to Rolling Stone magazine, and brought the sounds of the black gospel church to pop music with their string of call-and-response hit records.

This week’s ‘Simply Country’ music programme

The ‘Simply Country’ programme is presented by Leslie-Ann Scoular every Friday night from 8.00 to 10.00pm. The programme playlist of songs is listed on – just follow the instructions below!

Simply Country is produced and presented by Leslie-Ann.  The programme is repeated on Saturday morning at 11.00am and is also available on Catch Up anytime for up to 7 days after original broadcast.  At the moment, due to a technical fault, Catch Up is not available.

This week’s featured artist is Lucinda Williams. Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams who recently released This Sweet Old World – a complete re-recording of her 1992 album Sweet Old World – via Highway 20/Thirty Tigers on 29 September 2018.

Produced by Williams and Tom Overby, This Sweet Old World – recorded to mark the 25th anniversary of the original album’s release by Chameleon/Elektra – features all-new renditions of the 1992 set’s 12 songs, some of which have been dramatically rearranged and rewritten.

On This Sweet Old World, Williams is supported by her touring and studio band: guitarist Stuart Mathis, bassist David Sutton, and drummer Butch Norton. Longtime collaborator Greg Leisz – who participated in early sessions for the 1992 album, and co-produced Williams’ most recent studio releases, The Ghosts of Highway 20 (2016) and Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone (2014) – contributes spectacular guitar work.

The release is augmented by four newly recorded bonus tracks that harken back to Williams’ early performing career.
