TTBA featured album: Bruce Springsteen – Western Stars

The ‘Turn The Beat Around’ programme Album of the Month for January 2020 is the new CD from Bruce Springsteen called ‘Western Stars’.

Just four months after releasing the studio version of Western Stars, now comes the soundtrack to the cinematic film version recorded live in Bruce’s nearly 100-year-old barn and interspersed with assorted footage of horses running free or Bruce driving a pickup, vintage film of him and Patty Scialfa and the like.

It’s the same songs, performed in the same order, but this time with a 30-piece orchestra; full band and assorted backing singers, among them Scialfa who also plays guitar and was responsible for the vocal arrangements.

Ian Arbuckle will be playing tracks from this new album on his programme, Turn The Beat Around on Revival FM on Wednesday evening from 8.00pm with the repeat on Saturday afternoon from 3.00pm plus available on the Catch-up anytime for up to 7 days after original broadcast.
