Carina Round guests on Drive with Jules

Singer Carina Round is a guest on Wednesday’s (15 June) Drivetime with Jules on 100.8 Revival FM.

Carina will be chatting to Jules after 4.00pm on her new retrospective, ‘Deranged To Divine’ album released on 23 July on Cargo records.

Before gathering similarities to the likes of PJ Harvey, British singer-songwriter Carina Round got her start with a short stint at Birmingham’s famed Ronnie Scott’s club in 1996.

Within several years, she had gained attention through support billings for Mark Eitzel, David Gray, the Wonder Stuff’s Miles Hunt, and most notably Ryan Adams, who later asked her to perform at several of his London shows.

Carina Round soon expanded her sound with the additions of drummer Marcus Galley and double bassist Simon Smith, and the trio toured briefly before heading into the studio to record 2001’s The First Blood Mystery.

Carina Round, who is 37, then spent some time on various projects, including touring with Puscifer, working with Academy Award-winning composer Marco Beltrami and her side project the Early Winters. Brian Eno, Billy Corgan and Dave Stewart were among her collaborators on 2012’s Tigermending.

Carina Round plays Glasgow’s King Tuts on Sunday 7 August 2016.  Tickets from www.kingtuts.co.uk or visit her FB page.

Drivetime with Jules Crispin, Wednesday 15 June from 4.00pm and Catch Up anytime.
