Christmas Celebration 2018 – ‘the best yet’

Christmas Celebration 2018 – ‘the best yet’

The final Christmas Celebration 2018 concert presentation took place on Monday 17 December in the main auditorium of The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and it has been described as “the best ever!”

The Hall was filled to capacity to enjoy an evening of Christmas Celebration in music and song.

Revival FM director and Celebration Choir Conductor Andrew Polson commented after the performance:
“What a fantastic Christmas Celebration series of concerts we have had this year presenting ‘The Greatest Story’.

Close to 2,500 people gathered in Ayr, Edinburgh and Glasgow to hear an outstanding choir and orchestra deliver what many have said to be our best presentation yet.

The Christmas message was heralded loud and clear, and we have to make mention of the wonderful addition to our final night at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall with the St Aloysius College Junior Choir.  The children sang their hearts out and delighted the whole audience.

I’m not prone to saying these kind of things but that was the best Celebration Concert yet. This was our 8th year but still fantastic musicianship and outstanding singing from the Celebration Choir, The Gospel Heirs, Dave Brackenridge, and wow, the St Aloysius College Junior Choir.  Well done ALL.”

12th Anniversary Dinner & Auction success

12th Anniversary Dinner & Auction success

The Revival FM 12th Anniversary Dinner & Auction successfully took place on Friday, 28 September 2018 within the newly refurbished Kirkintilloch Town Hall in Union Street, Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire.

The event was a ‘sell-out’ with over 120 people attending at the rebuilt Kirkintilloch Town Hall which replaced the regular venue, Cumbernauld New Town Hall.

The Kirkintilloch venue was slightly smaller than Cumbernauld, but this made for a cosy and cheerful night, raising much needed funds for Revival FM.

Station director Andrew Polson told everyone from the stage how important the night was, in this, the 12th year of Ofcom licensed full-time broadcasts.  Andrew explained that Revival FM was successful in May 2018 with the award from Ofcom for a new FM broadcasting licence to cover the City of Glasgow.

Revival FM (Glasgow) will launch at Easter 2019 on an FM frequency plus online on all devices to include smart voice speakers.

Friday night’s Dinner & Auction raised £8,870 from this smaller venue.  This fundraising will support the launch of Revival FM and its ministry across Glasgow.

Pictured above on the stage of Kirkintilloch Town Hall is Dave Brackenridge, founder and CEO of Kirkintilloch based Rookie Rock Stars.  Revival FM has partnered with Rookie Rock Stars, a new mental health counselling service for children and young persons.

Dave explains: “This service provides the opportunity for struggling individuals to talk to mental health professionals in an organisation they feel safe with. We have been providing this service on a small scale for a short time now and we are absolutely convinced of the need for it.
Rookie Minds is open to anyone who needs it.  We are able to offer help in various areas inclusive of: bereavement, anxiety and depression, education support, family relationships and bullying.  This project works out of our head office in Kirkintilloch as well as working directly with schools. If you know someone who is in need of help, do not hesitate to get in touch.”
