12th Anniversary Dinner & Auction success

12th Anniversary Dinner & Auction success

The Revival FM 12th Anniversary Dinner & Auction successfully took place on Friday, 28 September 2018 within the newly refurbished Kirkintilloch Town Hall in Union Street, Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire.

The event was a ‘sell-out’ with over 120 people attending at the rebuilt Kirkintilloch Town Hall which replaced the regular venue, Cumbernauld New Town Hall.

The Kirkintilloch venue was slightly smaller than Cumbernauld, but this made for a cosy and cheerful night, raising much needed funds for Revival FM.

Station director Andrew Polson told everyone from the stage how important the night was, in this, the 12th year of Ofcom licensed full-time broadcasts.  Andrew explained that Revival FM was successful in May 2018 with the award from Ofcom for a new FM broadcasting licence to cover the City of Glasgow.

Revival FM (Glasgow) will launch at Easter 2019 on an FM frequency plus online on all devices to include smart voice speakers.

Friday night’s Dinner & Auction raised £8,870 from this smaller venue.  This fundraising will support the launch of Revival FM and its ministry across Glasgow.

Pictured above on the stage of Kirkintilloch Town Hall is Dave Brackenridge, founder and CEO of Kirkintilloch based Rookie Rock Stars.  Revival FM has partnered with Rookie Rock Stars, a new mental health counselling service for children and young persons.

Dave explains: “This service provides the opportunity for struggling individuals to talk to mental health professionals in an organisation they feel safe with. We have been providing this service on a small scale for a short time now and we are absolutely convinced of the need for it.
Rookie Minds is open to anyone who needs it.  We are able to offer help in various areas inclusive of: bereavement, anxiety and depression, education support, family relationships and bullying.  This project works out of our head office in Kirkintilloch as well as working directly with schools. If you know someone who is in need of help, do not hesitate to get in touch.”

Yvonne Lyon says “Everything’s Fine”

Celtic Fusion on 100.8 Revival FM on Tuesday nights from 8.00pm will feature Yvonne Lyon’s new single Everything’s Fine which is an upbeat, feel-good track taken from her eighth solo studio album Metanoia. Also featured on the single are the songs Where The Poor Find Gold and Hope.

A regular favourite at Yvonne’s gigs, Everything’s Fine tells the story of an unexpected moment of beauty in an otherwise mundane daily commute. Fusing Yvonne’s melodic sensibility and balanced poetic nuance, the song is enhanced by freshness in the Nashville-influenced Americana vibe of her band.

Endearingly positive and uniquely memorable, Everything’s Fine showcases an artist who continues to go from strength to strength.

Yvonne is among the UK’s brightest and best emerging singer/songwriters. Having supported Eddi Reader throughout the UK, performed with Beth Nielsen Chapman and co-written with Boo Hewerdine, she continues to establish herself as an artist of considerable significance.

Yvonne began 2018 opening for Dougie MacLean at Celtic Connections 2018. Her emotive performances have consistently drawn and stirred audiences and she has shared the stage with Patti Griffin, Karine Polwart, Karen Matheson, Luka Bloom, Steve Forbert, IONA and Juliet Turner.
