Friday Night Football Show is back on 28 July

Although it is the peak of the summer season, the new football season for 2017-18 has got underway and back for a new season is the Revival FM popular ‘Friday Night Football Show’ at 7.00pm from Friday 28 July 2017.

Dennis Newall and Andy Millen will return for another super season of football action from the SPL to the Juniors around Lanarkshire, East Dunbartonshire and  Scotland.

The new SPFL season kicked off with the Betfred Cup with a total of 80 matches to be played before the end of July. The last 16 of the competition is scheduled for the midweek of  8-9 August.

Dundee United take on Raith Rovers at Tannadice and there’s a local derby at the Falkirk Stadium between the Bairns and Stirling Albion.

And Celtic FC begin their Champions League campaign on Friday 14 July when they faced Linfield at Windsor Park in Belfast with Celtic winning 2-0.  The second leg goes ahead at Parkhead on Wednesday night, 19 July with a place in the third qualifying round of the competition against Dundalk or Rosenborg up for grabs.

Brendan Rodgers’ side reached the group stage last season, knocking out Lincoln Red Imps, Astana and Hapoel Be’er Sheva en route.
