Gospel Blues Train feature on Fats Domino

This Friday, 12 January 2018 from 8.00pm, The Gospel Blues Train will be paying tribute to New Orleans piano man Fats Domino who sadly passed away back in October at the age of 89.

Antoine ‘Fats’ Domino’s musical career started as far back as the late 1940s and he is widely recognised as one of the architects of rock ‘n’ roll and R&B becoming famous for hits such as “Blueberry Hill”, “Ain’t That A Shame” and “I’m Walking To New Orleans”.

This week’s show will dip into Fats’ sizeable back catalogue as well as featuring some selected cover versions by artists he influenced.

Also featured on the show is Lins’ dad Les Honeyman who talks about the joy of discovering Fats’ music back in the 50s.

The Gospel Blues Train, presented and produced by Lins Honeyman, Friday 12 January 2018 at 8.00-9.00pm; Saturday 13 January at 7.00-8.00pm; Tuesday 16 January at 10.00-11.00pm plus Catch Up anytime for 7 days after broadcast.
