Hal Leath guests on The Gospel Blues Train

Tonight, Friday 29 September from 8.00 to 9.00pm, The Gospel Blues Train with Lins Honeyman features an exclusive interview with Hal Leath, founder member, piano player and chief songwriter with New Orleans gospel blues group the Big Black Bible Blues Band.

With a mission statement that speaks of their desire to bring light and hope to those in need as well as some great electric blues to the masses, the band recently launched their debut album ‘Holy Roller Woman’ which contains 11 tracks that, in typical gospel blues fashion, don’t hold back when it comes to matters of faith.

Lins caught up with Hal shortly after the album’s release and asked the Louisiana bluesman about how the album and band came about as well his conversion to Christ amidst the ravishes of his self-confessed drug and alcohol abuse in the ’70s.

The Gospel Blues Train, presented and produced by Lins Honeyman, Friday 29 September 8.00-9.00pm; Saturday 30 September 7.00-8.00pm and Tuesday 3 October 10.00-11.00pm plus Catch Up anytime.
