Remembrance Sunday Services

This coming Sunday, 8 November, is Remembrance Sunday and there will be a short Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Cumbernauld Village at 10.45am followed by morning worship in Cumbernauld Old Parish Church at around 11.15am.

Please note this replaces the usual first 10.15am Worship Service at the church.

Morning worship at the Forge Community Centre, 3 Ben Lawers Dive, Balloch, Cumbernauld, will be at the usual time of 11.45am and will include an Act of Remembrance.

There will be various Remembrance Sunday parades throughout North Lanarkshire on Sunday 8 November 2015.

CUMBERNAULD – 10.45am at Cumbernauld Village Cenotaph – Assemble at Cumbernauld Royal British Legion, South Muirhead Road; Parade moving off from Legion Car Park at 10.00am to Village War Memorial, thereafter, to Cumbernauld Village Church.

KILSYTH – 10.50am at War Memorial at Burngreen Park – Assemble at Kilsyth Primary School, Low Craigends, Kilsyth at 10.30am; Parade moving off at 10.40am, arriving at War Memorial at 10.50am.

GARTCOSH – 10.15am 10.15am short service in Gartcosh Church (approx 30 minutes); 10.50am Parade forms at end of Kirkhill Road for march up Lochend Road, Gartcosh; 10.55am Act of Remembrance.

AIRDRIE – 10.45am at War Memorial, Monkscourt Avenue, Airdrie – Parade moving off from Louden Street/Manse Place at approximately 10.25am, arriving at cenotaph at approximately 10.45am and in Coatbridge the Laying of Wreaths at around 11.45am.

Remembrance Sunday will once again be marked in East Dunbartonshire with a number of events taking place across the area.

On Sunday, 8 November 2015, Remembrance Sunday services, organised by churches and community councils, will be held in Auchinairn, Baldernock, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Lennoxtown, Milngavie, Milton of Campsie, Torrance, Twechar and Woodilee, Lenzie.

George Martin on The Lift from 10.00am on Sunday 8 November on 100.8 Revival FM will reflect on Remembrance Sunday.
