Revival returns to 100.8 FM with restricted coverage

Revival FM returned to transmitting on 100.8 FM this morning (Friday 15 July) following the circumstances which shut down the transmitter at Stuart House in Cumbernauld town centre.

Transmissions now have a reduced coverage area as the height of the transmit antenna is not as high as the 212m above sea level the rooftop at Stuart House provided.  However, early reports suggest reasonable reception on 100.8 FM around most of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.

Revival FM is scheduled to move to a new permanent FM transmitter site in around a month’s time which will improve greatly the reception and listening experience over a wider area to include Cumbernauld, Kilsyth, Kirkintilloch and other parts of North Lanarkshire, East Dunbartonshire and north Glasgow.

Revival FM will alert you to our improved service through this website and regular e-newsletter and with on-air promotions.

Revival FM went off-air on 100.8 FM on Monday of this week, 11 July.  This was is due to vandalism to the mains power supply from where the FM transmitter is based at Stuart House in Cumbernauld town centre.

Dave Mitchell (pictured), Breakfast Show presenter commented: “As you may be aware we have been off-air for the last few days.  This has been due to an act of vandalism at our broadcast site, Stuart House, Cumbernauld resulting in a power failure. dave m
Stuart House is in the process of being cleared as it has been earmarked for demolition before the end of 2016 and we are in the process of moving the Revival FM transmitter having identified an appropriate site. We are awaiting permission to move and commence transmission from the new site from broadcasting regulator Ofcom.”
Partial power was restored at Stuart House, but did not include a mains supply to the transmission area.
