Southern Tenant Folk Union feature on Celtic Fusion

On Celtic Fusion from 8.00pm on Tuesday 8 November on 100.8 Revival FM, the new album ‘Join Forces’ from Edinburgh based Southern Tenant Folk Union will feature in the programme.

‘Join Forces’ was released in September 2016 and is Southern Tenant Folk Union seventh since they formed in 2006. Musically it’s a return to some of the band’s bluegrass and roots origins whilst continuing the political lyric writing of their recent albums.

Artistically successful, their albums have been praised in The Guardian, Independent, Sunday Times, Mojo, Uncut and Irish Times.joinforces-cover

Often heard on national radio shows across UK and Eire they have also performed live in session on BBC One television’s ‘The Andrew Marr Show’ and in Ireland on RTE One television.

Their live show is exciting, engaging and in their hands ‘bluegrass can effortlessly be blended with other genres – folk, roots, Americana – to make a potent, timeless sound’.

Southern Tenant Folk Union are: Rory Butler – lead vocals/guitar; Craig Macfadyen – double bass; Pat McGarvey – vocals/5 String Banjo; Katherine Stewart – fiddle; Steve Fivey – percussion/Cajon Drum.
