Yvonne Lyon’s new album ‘METANOIA’

Yvonne Lyon’s new CD album Metanoia is her eighth solo studio release, further demonstrating her ability to deliver engaging original material with fresh imagination and will be featured on the Celtic Fusion programme at 8.00pm on 100.8 Revival FM.

Drawing inspiration from the Greek noun meaning ‘a new way seeing’, Yvonne Lyon offers a combination of previously unreleased songs and reinvented older tracks, several remixed by other producers and collaborators.  The result is a unique and emotive collection, rich in nuance and memorable throughout.

Metanoia has Americana, ambient and folk influences fuse together in a bold tapestry, along with several more intimate ballads showcasing Yvonne’s strengths as an evolving artist.Rather than shy away from her own struggles, her lyrics are both honest and vulnerable, conveying an ongoing sense of hope in the midst of brokenness and illness.

Metanonia was recorded at The Foundry Music Lab, Motherwell, Lanarkshire and produced by Graeme Duffin, Sandy Jones and Yvonne herself.  Guests on the album include Gareth Davies-Jones, Andrew Howie and Trevor Mitchell.  Of the 12 tracks, seven were written by Yvonne and the remainder being co-writes with David Lyon and Sandy Jones.

Yvonne Lyon is among the UK’s brightest and best singer-songwriters.  Yvonne plays Celtic Connections 2018 with Dougie MacLean on Wednesday 24 January in the Main Auditorium of The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
