Yvonne raising funds for the Stroke Association

Last July 2016, singer-songwriter Yvonne Lyon’s Dad suffered a stroke.

One of the first organisations to reach out to him was the Stroke Association with support, advice, resources, connection and community for both him and the family.

Yvonne says: “We’ve always wanted to walk the West Highland Way, and with it being such a significant year, we wanted to mark it with a special achievement while raising money and awareness for such a great charity.”

Yesterday, Saturday 29 April, Yvonne says in her diary: “Today was a little more cloudy, breezy and showery, but by the time we reached Conic Hill it brightened up. Loch Lomond was showing off it’s best moody colours. Unfortunately, poor Jo has blisters on her blisters and they seem to multiply like gremlins fed after midnight! So we took it a little slower today. yvonne-lyon-walk

It felt good to conquer our first peak. Lunch at The Oak Tree and coffee at St Mocha. Beautiful walk alongside the Loch before arriving at The Shepherd’s rest to our friends Jenny and Chris and their family and also Martha’s 9th Birthday party.”

You can support the Yvonne and Jo’s Walking the West Highland Way for Stroke Association because her dad experienced excellent support from the Stroke Association.  Visit the JustGiving page here.  The Stroke Association provide support to stroke survivors to make life after stroke a reality.
