Fantastic start to the Christmas Celebration 2017

Fantastic start to the Christmas Celebration 2017

There was a superb start to the Christmas Celebration 2017 presentations with Ayr on Saturday night, 2 December at the Newton Wallacetown Church in Main Street, Ayr.

Andrew Polson commented: “What a fantastic start to Christmas Celebrations 2017 in Ayr.  The Newton Wallacetown Church was packed out and the Celebration Choir for a first night it was superb.

During the song ‘Emmanuel’ I was so moved I virtually could not conduct.  You all bless me so much, and the wonderful message is why we do what we do. Thank you!”

Phil McAnespie commented on FB: “What a fantastic night. The choir are amazing and a credit to the work Andrew puts in with them. So looking forward to the Royal Concert Hall event.”

The presentation now moves on to Edinburgh in the heart of the capital at the Assembly Rooms in George Street on Saturday 9 December. Again, the advice is to get your tickets now for this celebration of the Christmas message.

And then to Glasgow, the Revival FM Christmas Celebration presentation is on Monday 18 December 2017 at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Main Auditorium at 7.30pm. So far, 2,000 people are attending, so, not many seats available. Book NOW!

This is an invitation to join Revival FM and the Celebration Choir and Concert Orchestra for this, the 7th Annual Christmas Celebration.

Fundraiser folk & Gospel concert at Kirkton Church

Fundraiser folk & Gospel concert at Kirkton Church

On Saturday 18 November at 7.30pm, Kirkton Church, Station Road, Carluke, Lanarkshire, has the privilege of welcoming the successful Ian Walker Band who will provide an evening of folk and gospel music to raise funds towards the £9,000,000 required for Saint Andrew’s Hospice Capital Appeal.

The band consists of three members, each of whom has enjoyed much success in their own right.

Ian Walker, himself, is a successful & popular songwriter from Glasgow and among numerous awards Ian won the Music Retailers’ Association Award for Excellence in London, hosted by the late Sir Patrick Moore. Ian’s songs have been sung before Nelson Mandela and Arun Ghandi & he has performed in America, Germany, Holland & Ireland as well as throughout the UK.

Jimmy Scott, is based in Bo’ness, West Lothian and particularly enjoys singing his own brand of country gospel music. From an early age, Jimmy grew up singing the old gospel hymns, an integral part of family life. Later he became interested in the music of Hank Williams, Jim Reeves and Johnny Cash, amongst others. Jimmy took great pleasure in supporting the iconic George Hamilton IV during his UK tours, considered to be “The International Ambassador of Country Music.”

Moe Walker from Northern Ireland is the female member of the band. Moe has performed as an acclaimed singer on the music scene for many years and she appeared, with her group, Tricycle, on STV’s popular variety show THINGUMMYJIG, along with people like Alastair McDonald and the Alexander Brothers. In recent years, like Ian, she has performed throughout the UK and in Germany, Holland and USA.

Together, this talented group are guaranteed to provide an uplifting evening of catchy and thought-provoking folk and gospel music, all presented with Ian’s quirky sense of humour and a few wee Scottish gems thrown into the mix like Duncan Macrae’s, “Wee Cock Sparra!”

Many have said that the Ian Walker folk band is ‘Better than Medication’ so Kirkton Church is trusting that the local community will come along and support Saint Andrew’s Hospice in their appeal to raise money for the extensive renovation required in order that they can continue to provide the best possible care in the twenty first century.

Tickets are £8.00 and can be purchased by calling Kirkton Church office in Carluke on 01555 750778 or alternatively, pay at the door on the night.
